Certification Testers
Certification Testers are used to proctor the written and manipulative (skills) tests offered by the Fire and Rescue Academy. These tests are required in order for individuals to receive state certification. Testers work under the authority of the Utah Fire Service Certification Council.
To be a Certification Tester, a person must meet the following criteria:

- Submit a Certification Tester Application, and two (2) letters of recommendation to the Certification Program Manager.
Please note that Certified Testers are only hired as needed. If an application is submitted when there are no openings, it will be held until openings become available.
Certification Testers must adhere to the following:
- Attend and complete the Certification Tester course as offered by the Certification Office.
- Attend up-date training every year or as determined by the Certification Council.
- Be state certified at equal or higher to the level they are testing unless otherwise approved by the Certification Council.
- Adhere to all other Certification Tester policies and procedures.
